How to describe yourself

Right now the question is ‘what is it I write about?’
I’ve had a problem defining my online self ever since before BlogHer 2011, where we had to define ourselves quickly when meeting new people and talking with brands.
Mommy blogger isn’t quite it.
Lifestyle blogger is so broad.
And I din’t stick with some things very long.
I started blogging just to write- I didn’t have a game plan like so many bloggers either start out with or quickly define for themselves.
It makes me wish for my newspaper days, where I was given a beat and had to find the stories from within.
Like the perfect picture, it’s the thrill of the hunt.
But I’ve never considered this blog like that.
Instead, I am now considering my beatsfor my contributions for Moms LA and The Trend Tribe.
A little more focus is necessary there, and a way to broaden what I write about in general while narrowing my focus here.
If I need focus.
The closest I’ve gotten to a definition of my blog is my tag line… Wandering through life.
I don’t have a lot of direction when it comes to this blog. I’ve focused before, with my Foodie Baby posts and different things I’ve participated with.
And lately, I’m looking at my categories and realizing that they don’t work anymore.
Of course, this epiphany came just in time for my computer to quit on me.
So while I take my time replacing that, I’m now taking the time to look back at where I’ve wandered lately to see if I can find out where I’m heading.
To decide on something that can make this blog desirable to work with, since I like working with companies occasionally here.
Of course, I’m sure I’ll wander down a side path and get totally lost again soon.
But that is life.
