Disclaimer: I was given a bottle of Episencial Massage Serum to review. No other compensation was given. All opinions are my own.
The last few weeks have been a blur.
I actually made it to a couple of social media events (of which I have yet to post anything, and I really need to!)
Wonder Boy started preschool last week.
A mad rush of shopping, looking planning and errand all leading up to my little brother getting married this Saturday (wedding stalkers, be sure to watch my Instagram).
Going down the street to play, driving here for a playdate, driving there to do… whatever it was that I did.
And in all of this?
Poor Lil’ Wonder, strapped in the car seat and staring at the traffic. Because he doesn’t always fall asleep in the car.
Poor Lil’ Wonder, being nursed in a car, a target food court, Nordstrom’s baby room, Chili’s, In-N-Out, in the hummingbird aviary at the San Diego Zoo…
Yeah, if you want to see a lot of this, again, check the Instagram
He’s even hanging out right behind me chewing on Sophie right now.
So when Lil’ Wonder gets dedicated time I like to pamper him.
Snuggles, letting him hold my fingers and drooling.
Eye-to-eye with him on the floor as I coax him along with tummy time.
And after bath- a little massage.
Massages are great for anyone, and I know with all of the car rides, big brother accidental tackles and teething, he needs to have some dedicated ‘him’ time.
So, after the bath, which is not right after eating and not quite before nap time, we do a quick little baby massage and talk about body parts. And we’ve been using Episencial Massage Serum to do it with.
Some advice from me about baby massages…
Don’t do it right after feeding or when your baby is tired. If your baby tenses and turns away, try massaging another time.
Do a search on Youtube for some massage techniques. I do long strokes down arms and legs, down his back, and stroke my hands in a clockwise pattern across the top and down his left side of his abdomen following his digestive system.
If not using a dedicated massage lotion like Episencial’s, consider using a safe edible oil such as coconut, almond or olive oil.
Look for a dedicated infant massage class in your area for classes.
I love finishing with a little foot rub, playing with the ‘piggies’ and hearing him coo back to me.
