Back To The Future is NOW
Marty McFly: What happens to us in the future? Do we become assholes or something?
One more day to find out.
Tomorrow, October 21st, 205 is the date Marty McFly stepped out of the Delorean and into the future in Back to the Future 2.
It’s not the first time we’ve passed a future tense of the world from film (2001: A Space Odyssey, Terminator) but the realistic-looking near future with lace-up high tops and hoverboards was always my favorite.
What would those Jaws filmmakers thought of with Sharknado, right?
I have on my list of ways to celebrate Back to the Future Day (I guess it is an internationally-recognized holiday at this point, right?) a moment to sit down with my husband, a major fan of the trilogy, and watch the documentary Back In Time.
GREAT SCOTT!
Yeah, they made a film, about the making of the film. Epic. It includes from castmembers, filmmakers, the people who made the replica of the Delorean (I’ve seen it!) and so much more.
This isn’t just about a film, this is about history and an idea that really was “lightning in a bottle”.
Audiences in LA will get the first chance at the screening tomorrow, which includes cast members, filmmakers, the band The flux Capacitors, a replica of the Delorean itself, and more. It travels throughout November, including more screenings in LA all the way to Boston! Check this link for schedule.
The film is available for download on the documentary’s web site, Amazon, iTunes, and will be available to watch on Netflix.
Be sure to check in to the film’s Facebook page to check out the celebrations starting now and following the release.
Enjoy the future – which is here!
