New Year resolution time
A lot of the resolutions I have heard this year deal with losing weight. Of course, those are all on a message board for women recently made mothers.
I refuse to do a weight resolution, mostly because I haven’t even come close to ever losing what I want. I really suffer from a lack of motivation when it comes to dieting… I am a firm believer in not only, “I deserve this” but also a non-believer in counting calories. I’m simply too lazy to count them all day. I’d rather eat them.
I think last year my resolution was to dress more stylish, I think. I say I think because I have a horrible memory and I also just don’t remember, but I had made a resolution to dress better, so it may have been made last January, although it would have also been last fall when I started my last job. I digress…
This year, I am resolving to use the crock pot once a week. I only have a couple recipes that I use, usually a variation of pot roast. I am always afraid Mr. Wonder will become sick of said pot roast like he did when I made spaghetti once a week for over a month early in our marriage. I was banned from making spaghetti for months, which depressed me because if I was on death row my last meal would be- spaghetti. Or Thai. But since I don’t plan on being on death row, who cares.
I either use water and liberally season the roast, or I use a can of cream of mushroom soup along with the potatoes, carrots, and roast. So there, my secret for excellent pot roast.
Back to the resolution…
I plan on using a couple recipes from A Year of Crockpotting along with recipes from Allrecipes and my Slow Cooking for Dummies book.
I have nothing planned for next week in the crock pot though. We are off to the beachhouse until Sunday (I am so excited!), so when I come back I will have to then plan something, or else start off the year with my much-beloved pot roast.
